Middle School Teacher - Patrice Driscoll
Patrice has taught the EPDS middle school program since the fall of 2008. She leads a challenging, integrated thematic curriculum that is enhanced by her an extensive background in media. A graduate of Boston College, she is now completing her Masters of Art in Teaching from Salem State College. Patrice brings years of related experience to her teaching from the business world, as a interim teacher in grades Pre-K through 8, and in service on two PTO Boards. Patrice particularly enjoys working with middle school students to cultivate their passion for life-long learning and future academic endeavors. Patrice has two teenage sons and lives in Newbury.

2nd, 3rd, & 4th Grade Teacher - Moira Gianelli
Moira joined EPDS in the fall of 2008. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Elementary Educational Studies with concentrations in science and art from Salem State College in 2003. A special creativity is found in her classroom that reflects the school's approach to integrated thematic learning. It draws upon eight years of diverse elementary teaching experience in the Ipswich and Hamilton-Wenham public schools, as well as the Salem Academy Charter School. Moira has a special interest in art and travel. She is married and lives in Hamilton with her 3 sons, two of whom now attend St. John's Prep.
Headmaster - Steve Silvestri
In July 2008, Eastern Point Day School welcomed Mr. Steve Silvestri as Headmaster. He brings with him an impressive and 34 year career in developmental education and educational leadership including 23 years as principal in the Chelmsford and Westwood school systems. In 1999, he was honored as the Massachusetts Principal of the Year in 1999 and continues to serve on the committee that presents this award annually. Mr. Silvestri also has 11 years teaching experience in grades Kindergarten, 4th, 5th & 6th. He received his B.S. in Elementary Education from Northeastern University, a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Wheelock College and a Masters in Educational Management from Lesley College. Mr. Silvestri lives in North Reading with his wife Marge. They have three grown children and two grandchildren.

Pre-K Teacher - Tami Cronin
Tami has 14 years experience teaching Pre-K, Transitional, and Kindergarten in both private and public school settings. Tami is an OCCS/EEC certified early childhood teacher and was an early childhood teacher and coordinator at the Kadima Community Day School in Andover for 3 years, and has taught for 6 years at Eastern Point Day School (and previously at St. Mels). Coupled with Tami’s wealth of pre-k and kindergarten experience, she also brings a daily passion and joy for the students, their learning, and growth.
K/1st Grade Teacher - Meghan Baer
Meghan has 11 years experience as a classroom teacher at the kindergarten, grade 1, 2 and 3 levels in regular, multiage and special education inclusive settings. Her varied teaching includes positions at the Boston Renaissance and Mystic Valley Regional Charter Schools, as well as the Roger Bacon Academy in North Carolina. Meghan also has 4 years experience as a social services case manager and clinical assessment specialist. She earned a BA in elementary education from the University of North Carolina and is presently enrolled in a Masters program at Salem State College.

Music - Joan Bradshaw
Joan joined the staff at EPDS as a music specialist in 2008. She taught music in the New Jersey public schools for twenty-eight years at all grade levels. Her experience as a music educator includes general music classes, chorus, vocal ensembles, and musical plays. Joan received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Voice from Douglass College and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Rutgers University. She and her husband live in Gloucester, have two sons and two grandchildren who attend Eastern Point Day School. Joan enjoys sharing her love of music with the students in the unique learning environment at Eastern Point Day School.
Physical Education & Movement - Frances Fleming
Frances lived the first 23 years of her life in England, where she received her undergraduate degree. She taught Physical Education in a London school of 1,000 girls ages 11-18. After coming to this country in 1969, she spent the next 23 years teaching Physical Education, Music and Movement simultaneously in public elementary schools in western Massachusetts. She also taught continuing education courses for Physical Education teachers at UMass. Amherst. Francis received her M.Ed. from Lesley University in curriculum development, specializing in the creative arts in learning. Frances is a potter and loves singing, sailing, reading, gardening, and chairing the town library garden committee for the Garden Club. She has taught at Eastern Point Day School since 1997.
Drama & Dance - Deej Viau
Deej has been the Drama and Dance Instructor at Eastern Point Day School since 2006. She grew up dancing and performing in plays during her youth. In college Deej began as a theatre major but transferred into Dance and received her BFA in Dance in 1982. Early in her career she was an ensemble dancer in a number of New England based dance companies. Deej later formed her own non-profit dance company DanceVisions, donating all proceeds to local charities and individuals in need. She has also been a certified fitness instructor for twelve years. Deej has been teaching her Dance/Drama/Fitness programs for over twenty years.
Spanish - Veronica Wood
Veronica was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador where, in 1992, she received her BS in Child Psychology from the Catholic University of Quito. In Ecuador, Veronica worked for several years as a School Psychologist for grades one through six. She was also the coordinator of various International Exchange Students' Programs. In 2000, she moved to the United States where she began teaching Spanish and started her own language program based upon her extensive experience, intensive training in several methods of children's education and her background as a native speaker. Currently, she also teaches Spanish at other north shore school and at her own private program called "More than Spanish" http://www.morethanspanish.net. Senora Veronica believes strongly that all children should have their first exposure to a second language as young as possible giving them the neural development that only takes place at an early age.
Art - Patricia Reed
Patricia has spent most of her life traveling and living in many parts of the world as a member of an Army family. She has a B.A. in Art Education from the University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas, and a Masters of Education in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University. Patricia has over 20 years of experience teaching art to children of all ages and is always inspired and energized by their creativity. In between her teaching experiences, Patricia creates and exhibits her own art whenever she can. She enjoys being a lifelong learner and continues to study art and take studio courses and art workshops. Patricia and her husband now live permanently in Pigeon Cove, where her husband’s roots go back over 150 years. They have 3 grown children and one grandchild.
