Social Studies

The history and social studies curriculum helps students acquire a common understanding of world and American history, its political principles, and its system of government in order to prepare them for responsible participation in our school and civic life. Students learn world and United States history, geography, economics, and government by studying more about who Americans are and where they came from.  Drawing on information and visiting local historic sites, historical societies, and museums such the Cape Ann Museum, students will study the political, intellectual, economic, and social growth of the United States.

Science

Our science program is an inquiry based program that focuses on the scientific method. It emphasizes the process of science, the development of problem-solving skills, and an understanding of the nature of science through a study of life, physical, and earth sciences, as well as the human body. Eastern Point Day School is committed to activity based/hands-on science instruction. The classroom, school grounds, museums, local parks, beaches and marshes are our science laboratories.  We have educational partnerships with Appleton Farms and the Maritime Heritage Center.
