The Eastern Point Day School Extended Day program offers a fun, but organized environment that is an essential part of a child’s day. It is our goal to help a student make friends, discover the arts, develop stronger fine/gross motor skills, and assist with homework. Creative Art is a vital part of a child’s life to build upon necessary skills for further successful developments. This program will offer an atmosphere where children can learn and grow.

Every two weeks a new theme is introduced and is posted outside the classroom on our family board along with any special events. In addition to our family board, every other Friday you will receive a newsletter mentioning upcoming themes as well as art projects.

A typical afternoon for your child begins with circle, where we discuss their favorite parts of their school day. Shortly following will be homework time for thirty minutes. After that is complete, we will have a “SHOW AND TELL” group this is when children can bring something small from home that is inexpensive to talk about and explain why it is important to them. Show and tell times are useful because it is a shared school experience. The students will go outside at least once a day to play an athletic activity such as, basketball, red light/green light, kickball, etc. for forty five minutes then participate in an art project indoors. Lastly, the children will have free choice time where they can unwind from the day and chose areas like board games, coloring, reading, and/or music.
