Extended Day Session 5 (4/24 – 6/7)

Eastern Point Day School is happy to announce this year’s final session of our Extended Day Program! The new session will run Monday-Thursday for 7 weeks starting Tuesday, April 24th and will end just in time for summer vacation on Thursday, June 7th. We have arranged hands on activities, fun adventures, and creative learning experiences for all students in grades Pre-K through 8th.

Just like the last session these activities include an after school recess immediately following dismissal and individualized homework assistance. The program is open to the public so feel free to invite your friends. For students who are interested in attending a single class here and there without registering for the full 6 weeks, the cost per after school session will be $20. Sibling discounts are available.

Mondays: Yearbook Committee – Collecting memories and photos of fun had throughout the school year, students will create the EPDS 2011-2012 yearbook. Learning to organize, categorize, and summarize a whole years worth of fun will be tricky, but it’s a great project for our students to take on.

Cost: $100 for 5 weeks (Mondays 4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21, 5/4)

Tuesdays: Photography Workshop - Recently my mother gave me an old Minolta Film camera, it has given me the motivation and inspiration to go out and snap some photos. With this being said I would like to invite students to join me as we find candid moments, landscapes, stills, faces, and much more right here in our neighborhood. In the end we will create an EPDS photo exhibit to be on display in our school, while also capturing some special moments for our yearbook. (Students should bring in a camera to use for the workshop)

Cost: $150 for 7 weeks (Tuesdays, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, 5/29, 6/5)

Wednesdays: Green Team Gardening - With the help from some of EPDS’s very own green thumbs, students will continue to work on our garden. Learning the names of tools used, seeds sown, and plants watered students will learn the ins and outs of growing their own flowers and veggies.

4:30-5:00 Individualized Homework Assistance

Cost: $150 for 7 Weeks (4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16, 5/23, 5/30, 6/6)

Thursdays: Anything Goes – The weather is only going to get better as the school year comes to an end, giving us more reason to get out and about. Students are invited to join me as we venture outside the school, participate in community projects, and explore local happenings. From visits to Sawyer Free Library, to kite flying, cooking classes, Piano or Yoga, fun is to be had all around when anything goes.
